Promotion Robe
For all students participating in the promotion, a MMS Maroon promotion robe must be worn. Robes can be borrowed from the school, purchased for $30 or if you already own one you can use it. Please complete Step1 below. If you wish to purchase a robe complete Step 2. The forms will be available from February 20th and the deadline is April 11th, 2025. Robes will be distributed to students during class on Thursday, May 22nd, 2025, allowing families to use the gowns over the weekend for photographs, etc. Borrowed gowns will be collected after the ceremony in gray bins as students and families exit the quad.
8th Grade Promotion Rehearsal - Thursday, May 29th
Students participating in promotion should arrive at 8:30 am in the quad. The practice will begin at 8:45 am in the quad and end at 12:15 pm. Students will leave campus and return for the promotion ceremony at 5:30 pm. All students participating in promotion MUST attend the practice.
8th Grade Promotion Ceremony - Thursday, May 29th
The Promotion Ceremony begins promptly at 6:00 pm on Thursday, May 29th, in the Mendenhall Quad. Promoting students need to arrive in the gym no later than 5:30 pm on the night of the promotion. We encourage our eighth graders to follow the district dress code and see this event as one for which they "dress for success." Additionally, all students must wear the maroon promotion ceremony gown. The gates will remain locked on the day of promotion until 4:00 pm. The back gate behind the gym will be open to provide additional parking
There will be no reserved seating at the promotion ceremony. If you have a family member who needs handicapped seating and parking, please call our office and ask to speak with Ms. Allen by May 19th at (925) 606-4731. For reserved handicap parking, please display a handicap placard from the DMV in your window. We ask that all families respect the handicapped seating areas and be considerate of others. The promotion ceremony is a family event, and seating is first come first serve. General parking is on the blacktop behind the GYM. Please refrain from bringing noisemakers, balloons, or animals to the ceremony. Thank you for your cooperation.

Last day of School - Thursday, May 29th
Students may not bring their backpacks on the last day of school. All students will be released to go home at 12:25 pm on Thursday, May 29th. We will not be releasing 8th graders early. If you need to sign your child out before 12:25, please remember that students who are promoting will be rehearsing until approximately 12:15 pm. All students participating in the promotion must be at the rehearsal.
